My Brass Band playing history

My playing Career started at The Salvation Army, Histon in the early 1980′s taught by Bandmaster Robert Carmichael and my father (A professional player in the Cold Stream Guards bands and Royal electrical and Mechanical Engineers band)

In the 1989 I was a member of The Salvation Army’s East London youth band(led by Max Weaver) for about 8months before moving back to Cambridge. During 1990 I applied to be a member of The Salvation Army’s East Midlands youth band (led by Mike Kirk) and played 1st horn until the band was disbanded when the Salvation Army re-arranged the divisions.

In 1996 I was then asked to play for The Salvation Army’s Eastern Counties Youth band, which was then renamed Anglia Youth band(Led by Matthew Peek) again playing 1st horn.  During my 14months with the band I became band librarian, I left the band near the end of 1997 due to work and family commitments.
