Linux…the more I play

5:52 pm in Uncategorized by Edd Stonham

The more I have been playing with Linux the more I like, I have not had linux as a desktop machine for at least 7 years and gave up using it as a desktop machine.

The web servers all run red hat so i am not afraid of linux builds however many apps in windows world are needed to get 90% of the tasks done. however in the last few years it seems a whole range of programs that allow me to do website, photo manipulation, music, video, office and so on have come onto the market and with the easy to install systems this has made life so easy.

Anyway heres to using Linux much more in the future…. however I still have a range of custom programs I need a windows machine for.

 Ubuntu

The linux build I am playing with at the moment I may try fedora http://fedoraproject.org/ as this seem to be a great build too.

Sam had been worried about Sarah this week as she kept being sick and then had been wetting the bed so we both decided to tell him last night he is going to be a big brother.

He took it really well, now he is telling every one about it and that he is going to be a big brother.

So the waiting till the 10th has now been changed as he knows..

I have caught up with so many old friends you just would not believe it.

Anyway the facebook app on my iphone is fantastic and I have now instaalled it on the blackberry too as this phone is always with me at work.

Looks like we are going to have to clear the cars off before we can leave… The drive looks a little covered too.

Outside the Snak van on the way to Work… The Bacon roll was a welcome fix after the drive in.  The roads at the roundabout looked like they had not seen any grit for some time… here’s hoping they will grit them before I need to leave in a few hours time….
